My work echoes landscapes and Nomads of the Negev and Arava Desert where I spent my formative years. The Female figure is an essential element in my artwork, resurfacing in the landscape wall hangings, the sculptural abstract formes and the free flowing vessels. Markings and motives characteristic to Middle Eastern cultures resurface in texture and colours of my ceramics. It is most important to me to preserve the Terra qualities of the clay. For this purpose I use primarily the Raku firing technique, working with mat and dry glazes to achieve vivid and vibrant colours. |
