Back to Back Galleries are housed in what was previously Back's Butcher Shop in Cooks Hill, Newcastle. Newcastle Studio Potters Inc, formerly Newcastle Ceramic Group, purchased the premises in 1973 and after years of fundraising, the two galleries, Back to Back & The Back Room, were officially opened in March, 1992.

The main gallery provides exhibition space for local and international artists to exhibit ceramics and other media of high quality. The Back Room provides exhibition space exclusively for members. At the rear of the premises a large studio provides facilities for lectures, meetings and workshop use.

Back to Back Galleries are open 12-6pm Friday to Sunday. For
