Book now for our new workshop: Reduced Lustre with Bob Connery
Saturday 13, Sunday 14 & Monday 15 March, 2010

9am – 5pm for three days
Lue Pottery (the workshop of Des and Jan Howard), 28 km from Mudgee, NSW; www.luepottery.hwy.com.au

Tutor: For the past 18 years ceramic artist Bob Connery has been developing his lustre technique. This involves applying silver, copper and bismuth slips onto specially glazed pots and firing in cycles of heavy reduction and oxidation. The fired slip is then cleaned off to reveal the lustre and effects. Bob Connery became a fulltime potter in 1978 when he established Stokers Siding Pottery and Gallery in the Tweed Valley, northern NSW. www.stokerspottery.com.au

Course Description: Participants will start by learning some elementary brushwork and design, then go on to use the lustre slips on their glazed pots (prepared prior to the workshop). The pots will then be fired, cleaned and discussed. Bob’s aim is to complete two firings over the three days.

Learn in three days what took Bob four years!

PLEASE NOTE: Detailed notes will be provided to all participants at least two months before the class because participants need to prepare ten specially glazed pots.

$265 per person (members of TACA – $245): This fee includes the tutor, hire of space, detailed notes and various lustre slips ($50), morning and afternoon tea/ coffee.

Full payment is required to ensure a place.
