Exhibitions

The Australian Ceramics Association fosters innovation, professional development, and opportunity through their member exhibitions. A long-standing partnership with Manly Art Gallery & Museum in Sydney has produced major bi-annual exhibitions over many years, inviting guest curators to challenge artistic boundaries in contemporary ceramics.

BODIES OF EVIDENCE in April 2027 will be guest curated by Bridie Moran, and seeks to explore scientific questions and the experimental research involved in pushing material boundaries. We are developing partnerships in regional centres, such as the upcoming CONTINUUM exhibition at Noosa Regional Gallery QLD in July 2026. Our current exhibition program has seen record numbers of submissions and inspires us to keep delivering these opportunities for our members.

A call for submissions is open until 28 September for ABSENCE / PRESENCE, an exhibition of selected small sculptures reflecting the theme of memory. It will be shown alongside BODIES OF EVIDENCE in April 2027.

The Australian Ceramics Association acknowledges the Traditional Owners of Country throughout Australia and First Nations Peoples’ connections to land, sea, and sky.

We recognise that sovereignty was never ceded and that we are on stolen land. We pay our respect to Elders past, present, and emerging, and to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders who engage with the Association, our events, and our programs.

As we gather to listen and speak we are doing so in the home of one of the longest continuous cultures of shared oral storytelling, material wisdom, and artmaking on this planet.
