Les Blakebrough: A Memoir

Les Blakebrough: A Memoir

In this fascinating memoir, Les Blakebrough tells of working night shifts as a cab driver while completing an arts course at East Sydney Tech, followed in 1957 by a grinding apprenticeship at Sturt Pottery. Les went on to run Sturt Pottery as its director in the 1960s. In 1971 he took up an appointment at the University of Tasmania where he established the ceramics studio, staying on the island for 35 years. It was there that he developed Southern Ice porcelain.
