FAVOURITE SHAPE TEA TOWEL

FAVOURITE SHAPE TEA TOWEL

To celebrate the 2025 Australian Ceramics Triennale we asked our members for a line drawing of their favourite ceramic shape to use on a limited-run tea towel. Some drawings are of the member’s work, others are a drawing of a favourite artist or historical artefact. Imaginative and diverse shapes drawn by TACA members adorn this playful tea towel design. Printed with love by excellent humans in a limited edition colourway.

“This is my drawing of an ancient Egyptian canopic jar with a jackal’s head, god of the underworld. I love making functional as well as sculptural ceramics, and I love that the canopic jar combines both of these things, plus being a completely awesome piece of ancient history.”

“One of my most favourite shapes – a Peruvian aryballos, Inca, late post-Classical period. It is a water-jar and was made for carrying with a rope.”

“This is a drawing of my later father’s woodfired pot. I believe this particular form really captures the essence of his work and craftsmanship, he was quite known for forms like this one.”
